Browns sign Clayton, Wright to practice squad
The Cleveland Browns have signed running back Thomas Clayton(notes) and defensive back DeAndre Wright(notes) to the practice squad.
And the team waived running back Andre Anderson(notes) and football jerseys
defensive back DeAngelo Smith(notes) from the practice squad.
Originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft, Clayton spent the entire 2007 season and the first 14 weeks of the 2008 season on the 49ers’ practice squad before being elevated to the 53-man roster for the final two games. He then spent last season on injured reserve.
Clayton signed with the New England Patriots as a Indianapolis Colts jersey
free agent in June and was waived on Sept. 4.
A three-year letterman at Kansas State, he rushed for 1,075 yards on 232 carries with seven touchdowns.
Originally drafted by the New York Giants in the sixth round last year, Wright spent time on the practice squads of the Giants, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings before being waived by the Vikings on Sept. 4.

New Mexico, Wright started 43 of his 48 career games, ending his collegiate career with 10 interceptions.
